What the FCA!?

Functional Capacity Assessments (FCAs) can feel confusing. So what are they actually for, what happens during one and what should you expect from the final report?

An FCA is really about understanding you and your everyday life. Your OT will chat with you about what’s going well, what you find difficult and what you’d like to achieve. They may also observe everyday tasks, use some assessments and speak with people who support you.

All of this is brought together into a report that explains your strengths, where you may need support and recommendations to help you get the most out of everyday life.
